- Stage Combat for Actors
This class is designed for actors looking to sharpen their ability to perform stage combat, learn fight choreography, and work with the fight choreographer. Fighting is becoming more and more common in shows these days and often there is not enough time allotted for the actors to learn the choreography, or worse, no fight director has even been hired. Our focus is to instill the foundations of technique and safety, as well as to get you used to learning fight choreography on the fly. Over six weeks we will teach you the most commonly used moves in unarmed combat, and present you with new choreography incorporating those moves. We will also work on the acting of the fight, and how to use the choreography to tell the story of your character. This all-around training will help prepare you for the next time you are in a show involving combat, and give you the tools you will need to make your fight really shine.
